Models for OpenClaw

OpenRouter keeps a collection labeled for OpenClaw. The agent still needs a key and a slug you can afford to loop.

Updated 2026-09-27

The collection is at openrouter.ai/collections/openclaw. It is a curated list, not a benchmark with one winner. OpenClaw’s own docs, linked from OpenRouter’s coding-agent cookbook, are where the client is configured.

For a first paid default, compare three shapes: DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 when the repo is large and the patch is short, DeepSeek V4 Pro 0423 when the written output is long and you want output under $1 per million, and Claude Sonnet 5 when you need the Anthropic tool path and can pay $10 per million output tokens. Qwen3.7 Max sits between them at $1.48 / $4.43 with a 1M window.

Add the MCP server if you want OpenClaw to read the live price before it picks. The collection order can change. Pin the slug in the agent config after you have a passing run.

Questions

Where is the OpenClaw model list?

https://openrouter.ai/collections/openclaw

What should I try first?

A Flash slug for cheap long context, then Sonnet 5 or V4 Pro on the tasks Flash misses. Keep the slug that passes your tests.

Is OpenClaw included in OpenRouter credits?

The model calls are. The agent client is a separate install.

  • Coding agents

OpenRouter’s coding-agent apps include Claude Code, OpenCode, and others. The agent is the client. The model is the slug you attach.

  • Coding models

Coding-model choice on OpenRouter is price, context, and tool-call reliability. DeepSeek V4, Qwen3.7 Max, GLM 5.2, and Sonnet 5 are the slugs to price first.

  • OpenRouter MCP

The OpenRouter MCP server is https://mcp.openrouter.ai/mcp. It lets a coding agent read models, prices, and your credits after an OAuth login.

  • DeepSeek V4 Flash price

    DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 was $0.021 / $0.32 per million tokens on 27 Sep 2026. The 0423 slug was $0.047 / $0.094. Neither was the free router.
